Ministry of Technical and Vocational Training Senegal endorses ICDL

ECDL Foundation International Forum supports i2010 Strategy for Growth and Employment
Vienna, October 2008: ECDL Foundation’s Annual Forum brought together delegates from 52 international organisations and informatics societies representing 148 countries, to plan future activities in support of the i2010 strategy and launch the new syllabus for the ECDL / ICDL Advanced programme. This international event focused on three important themes underlying ECDL / ICDL programmes which support the i2010 strategy: building the Information Society, enabling growth and employment through helping society and the economy reap the benefits of digital literacy, and empowering individuals with the skills necessary to participate in the Information Society. Consul of Saudi Arabia in Vienna gets ICDL

150 schools to join online education project by 2010
The results of various e-literacy projects initiated by ictQatar will only be visible in few years, said the regulatory authority’s e-Education manager, Ghadah Fakeih, yesterday.
“The process is a gradual one and we must be patient, since all of this requires huge efforts in planning and human capital. I think by 2010, you will see about 150 local independent schools becoming part of a vibrant e-Education community,” she said. [meer...]
ICDL for people with disabilities in Jordan
The ICDL programme in Jordan was launched in 2001. The Licensee put great effort into promoting the programme’s benefits for individual Candidates as well as for society. Raising awareness of the programme in the Jordanian public raised awareness levels among blind people who view ICDL as a tool to help them become more familiar with ICT and the development of the technology.
In addition, to spread the information about ICDL among corporate and governmental entities, ICDL Jordan places special attention and care on people with disabilities and other people in need. [meer...]
